Youtube and Twitch stars Squeezie, Gotaga and Brawks officially announced on Friday the launch of their own esports structure, titled ‘Gentlemates’.
“Squeezie, Gotaga and Brawks, leading influencers in their respective fields, have decided to join forces around a common project: an esports club,” they explain on their new club’s website.
The three influencers had first published a video in the form of a trailer on their social networks on Thursday before organizing a launch party broadcast Friday evening on Twitch and YouTube.
“Squeezie”, Lucas Hauchard, his real name is the biggest youtuber in France with some 18 million subscribers. Corentin “Gotaga” Hussein and Kevin Georges, alias “Brawks” are former professional gamers and made themselves known on the Call of Duty video game.
The latter two have already distinguished themselves in esports by participating in the creation in 2013 of Vitality, which has since become the main esports club in France and one of the largest in Europe.
“We separated from Vitality by mutual agreement and a few years later, we are here to set up our small structure,” Gotaga said on Twitch. “It was a dream,” added Brawks. “To be able to ensure that young people like me can live their dream, to supervise them and pass the torch to young people who want to live from their passion.”
“Gentlemates” already has a team playing on Valorant, a shooter video game published by Riot Games.
Esport, a booming sector, refers to video game competitions. In recent years, several influencers have embarked on the discipline by creating their own team, like Kamel “Kameto” Kebir and Amine “Prime” Mekri with the “Karmine Corp” team or Toma “JL Tomy” with ” Joblife”.
