In the other Group B match which concerns the Blues, the Oranje played against Greece (3-0) in Eindhoven. The Batavian selection made the difference in the first period thanks to goals scored by De Roon (17th), Gakpo (31st) and Weghorst (39th). Very dynamic and offensive for 45 minutes, the team coached by Ronald Koeman fell asleep in the second half but the essentials are acquired.

Thanks to this victory, the Netherlands (6 pts) return to second place in the group, nine points behind France (15 pts) but with two games in hand. Now third on goal difference, Greece (6 pts) remains in the race for qualification. During the 6th day on October 13, the Batavians will host the Blues for a shock which could prove decisive.

How hard it was for Poland. Against the Faroe Islands (2-0) in Warsaw, the Poles found the fault in the last twenty minutes thanks to a double from their captain Robert Lewandowski. The Barça striker released his team in the 73rd minute before the goal of the break on penalty (83rd). Poland takes advantage tonight of the draw between the Czech Republic and Albania and keeps all its chances of joining Euro 2024.

In the other meeting of group E, the Czechs and Albanians were unable to decide between themselves (1-1). Dominant for 90 minutes, the Czech Republic (1st, 8 pts) logically took the lead thanks to Cerny (56th). But Albania (2nd, 7 pts) snatched a very valuable point with their only shot on target from Bajrami (66th). Winner of the evening, Poland is 3rd with 6 points.

It’s the bad evening operation. In Pool G, Serbia lost at home to Hungary (1-2) despite opening the scoring against their Szalai side (10′). Varga then Orban allowed the Hungarians to turn the tide in two minutes (34 and 36th) in order to consolidate their first place with 10 points. Dusan Tadic’s teammates remain 2nd (7 pts).

Denmark respected its status against San Marino. The little thumb of group H lasted 25 minutes before sinking in Copenhagen. The Danes won 4-0 thanks to achievements from Hojberg (26th), Maehle (28th), Wind (40th) and Poulsen (93rd) and moved up to 2nd place (10 pts), two lengths behind Finland which won in Kazakhstan (0-1) earlier in the day.

In the same group, Slovenia put on a show in front of their home crowd to dominate Northern Ireland, 4-2. Sporar (3rd and 56th), Evans (csc, 17th) and Sesko (36th) scored on the Slovenian side. Price (7th) and the same Jonny Evans (53rd) had given hope to the British. Third tied with Denmark, Slovenia (10 pts) believes more than ever in qualification while for the Northern Irish (5th, 3 pts), Euro 2024 in Germany already seems very far away.
