According to information from the Reuters news agency, the fate of Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is about to be sealed, with the possibility of his dismissal looming. This comes following allegations of “inappropriate behavior” towards a female colleague. The announcement of his decision is expected to be made by Wednesday evening, just before the start of the first Grand Prix of the season. Horner, aged 50, reportedly categorically denied these accusations during his hearing on February 9. Despite this, Red Bull has launched an independent investigation into the allegations.

Although scheduled to travel to the Middle East for the start of the 2024 season, Horner is facing internal turmoil. New reports published by Dutch media outlet De Telegraaf have revealed new allegations of “transgressive sexual behavior” towards a female employee, claiming that sexually suggestive messages were allegedly exchanged over a “significant period of time.” This employee would also threaten “to take further legal action”.

Uncertainty hangs over the future of Horner, who recently took part in the presentation of the new car and in Red Bull’s pre-season testing. In a statement to Sky Sport, he expressed his confidence in the ongoing process while emphasizing the strength and unity of the team at these critical times in preparation for the upcoming season.

It is also an open secret that there is discord within the energy drink company’s organization. The Austrian branch and Mark Mateschitz, who owns 49% of the shares, would prefer to get rid of Horner quickly. The brand’s main shareholder, the Thai Chalerm Yoovidhya (51%), has until now always protected Horner.
