Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), 4th in the Canadian GP won by Max Verstappen (ahead of Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton), summarized in a press conference: “We decided not to go into the pits during the second safety car and I think it was the right strategy. And it’s cool that it shows because even when you make the right choices, it doesn’t necessarily show. The team handled the race very well today (Sunday), both in terms of strategy and tire management. The car was better than at the start of the season so that’s positive, but fourth is not the place we’re aiming for. We hope to be able to fight for victory again. But starting tenth we had complicated life. We still lack some speed. We’re making progress, we’re going in the right direction, but it’s still a special track here in Montreal so we’ll have to confirm in Austria (the next race, in two weeks. With what happened yesterday (Saturday) in qualifying, it’s is the best result we could do today and I’m happy with our performance.”
