The Valenciennes club, already in bad shape on a sporting level with its last place in Ligue 2, finds itself immersed in a regrettable affair. A young professional player lined up this Sunday as a reserve team during the match against the Lille B team at Mont-Houy was involved in an incident at the end of the match.

According to information reported by the MaLigue 2 website and several local media, the player tried to explain himself to VAFC supporters present at the edge of the pitch, which degenerated into a fight. A spectator was reportedly seriously injured, suffering three facial fractures, including one to the jaw.

The professional player will be summoned by club management this Tuesday to give his version of the facts and risks dismissal. For his part, the injured spectator decided to file a complaint following this incident.
