The winner is known. Jean Darolles won the 2nd edition of the La Poste French Referee Cup “thanks to his teaching and seriousness”, indicates the competition press release. The young farmer (29 years old) from Regionale 3 and licensed to the US of Bérat (Ligue Occitanie) beat, during the final duel, Amélie Léglise (19 years old), referee of the Women’s League and licensed to the Entente Chaingry Saint Ay football (Centre-Val de Loire League). This was named best female. Oussoubi Fofana (17 years old), District referee licensed at US Grigny (Ligue de Paris Ile-de-France) was named best young person.

The La Poste French Referee Cup is the first competition entirely dedicated to referees. Its aim is “to promote and retain amateur referees and encourage young people to get involved”. It also allows “to promote their membership clubs and offer more recognition and light to those who practice arbitration”. Open to all major amateur referees, it was divided into two phases: the “digital” quiz phase (from the end of September to the end of October) which made it possible to select 64 referees on the basis of accuracy and speed some answers ; and the “field” phase (from the end of October to the beginning of May), during which the 64 referees opposed each other in a duel.
