The consequence is that the 17-year-old midfielder, called up for the French team for the first time, needs parental authorization to leave French territory, as the newspaper L’Équipe points out. And Zaire-Emery will have to resolve to travel for the Blues’ second match during this break, on Tuesday, November 21 in Athens, Greece.
“A child leaving the national territory without being accompanied by a holder of parental authority” must be “provided with an authorization to leave the territory signed by a holder of parental authority”, we can read in the Civil Code since June 2016. This followed, at the time, a law relating to the fight against terrorism. Authorization to leave the territory (AST) is necessary both for a school trip and for a rarer case like that of Zaire-Emery.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder has, of course, already used this process this season, during his club’s trips to Newcastle and AC Milan in the Champions League. He could honor his first cap this Saturday (8:45 p.m.) against Gibraltar, at the Allianz Riviera in Nice.
