The Panamanians will play their third Gold Cup final in their history after 2005 and 2013.
Mexico will be in their 11th final. He won eight (1993, 1996, 1998, 2003, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2019) and lost two (2007, 2021).
But Panama and Mexico had never been opposed for the title.
Ivan Anderson opened the scoring for Panama in the 99th minute, Jesus Ferreira equalized for the United States in the 105th minute. Panama got the last laugh by winning the penalty shootout 5-4.
In the other semi-final, Mexico more clearly beat Jamaica 3 to 0. Henry Martin (2nd minute), Luis Chavez (30th) and Roberto Alvarado (90th 3) were the Mexican scorers.
