TOPS

This player is a permanent danger. With surgical precision, he offered his partners countless goal balls. He found Wahi in the right spaces from the start of the match (12th and 16th). He could have counted several assists on Wahi (36th) and Mendy (94th). His opening on Pereira which leads to Sotoca’s far post (89th) is a delight. Defensively, he was fair by coming back to hamper Rashani on several Clermont actions. The man of the match for Lens.

Without him, the evening bill would have been much higher. Helpless on Sotoca’s penalty, he won his three duels against Elye Wahi (46th, 65th, 71st). Serene on set pieces and simple in his play, he truly reassured his team. His pass for Virgnius (55th) could have led to a dangerous action, and it was again he who came to save his team in added time by repelling Mendy who had come to counterattack.

FLOPS

Lacking efficiency in recent weeks, to the point of seeing Wesley Saïd start in his place, Wahi will not regain his confidence this evening. He misses several checks which would have brought him alone against the Clermont goalkeeper (36th, 69th). And even in the best of situations, he missed three face-to-face matches. His body play was not used wisely either (56th). A performance which resulted in the bronca of Bollaert during his exit (89th). Not sure that all Lensois supporters agree with this treatment.

The Clermontois offered particularly dangerous balls to the Lensois. From the 19th minute, his mistake led to a free kick at the edge of the area for the Northerners. Two minutes later, he missed his crossbar and allowed Fulgini to appear alone in front of goal. It was his restart in the 46th that allowed Wahi to get a face-to-face match. He missed sometimes simple gestures, like this control in the 59th which transformed a counter into a strike for Gradit.
