OM president Pablo Longoria said Wednesday that coach Gennaro Gattuso was still “the right person” to guide the team, despite the current poor results.

“I see him with a lot of energy, determination, strength. I really believe that he is the right person and he has all my confidence,” declared Longoria on the sidelines of the presentation of striker Faris Moumbagna.

“He is looking for solutions and I believe like him that it is the small details, the mentality, the aggressiveness, which will bring us results. What we lack is the mentality and the control of these small details,” continued the Spanish leader. “We sent a strong message about mentality and commitment and we didn’t see that in Lyon (1-0 defeat). It surprised us,” Longoria explained.

“Everyone has to take responsibility and give something extra. We can still do a lot of things, I am convinced. But everyone must go in the same direction and be aware of their responsibility towards this institution,” he concluded. OM remain on three draws and one defeat before receiving Metz on Friday.
