The president of the northern club conceded that his players had undoubtedly been paralyzed by the challenge of the match: “When I say that we have to grow, it is in the approach to the matches. There is this first half, at home, which is probably one of the worst of the season. Growing up means apprehending these moments to be there when you have to hit the nail on the head.”

The coach of the Mastiffs, Paulo Fonseca, gave a similar speech, also congratulating Brest, which overtook Lille at the last minute to qualify directly for the C1. “Honestly,” he said, “I think we are in the place we deserve. Congratulations to Brest, who had a great season, and who perhaps deserved more than us. At the end, we have the possibility of going to the Champions League, and I am very proud of my players, of what we have done this season.
