A one-sided game. This Saturday, on the lawn of the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium, LOSC made short work of AC Ajaccio (3-0). From the first minutes of play, the Mastiffs took the lead in the game, depriving their opponents of the ball. A domination which was not sterile since in the 22nd minute of play, on a good deflection from Rémy Cabella, André Gomes opened the scoring with an overpowered shot from afar which ended its race in the left corner of Benjamin Leroy. Paulo Fonseca’s players have not slowed down. And after half an hour of play, the same André Gomes, again on a clever service from Rémy Cabella, scored the break goal by opening his left foot perfectly in the penalty area (34th). Almost immediately after, the French attacking midfielder, after his two assists, turned into a scorer by pushing into the back of the net a center on the ground from Jonathan Bamba from the left (37th). Lille thus returned to the locker room with a three-goal lead.

After the break, the Northern club did not ease off. Rémy Cabella and his teammates continued to push to make a little more difference and improve their goal average, an element that could count in the race for Europe. Nevertheless, despite new clear chances, they failed to deceive the vigilance of Benjamin Leroy. The Ajacciens, for their part, were a little more enterprising at the end of the match. Kevin Spadanuda even hit the crossbar in the 75th minute of play. But despite this (late) awakening, the Corsicans did not find the fault either. It is therefore with the score of 3-0 that the meeting ended. With this success, LOSC has carried out a very good operation in the standings since it is temporarily back two points from fourth place occupied by AS Monaco…in addition to putting Stade Rennes and Olympique Lyonnais, respectively sixth and seventh in Ligue 1, six points away. AC Ajaccio remains penultimate.
