This is what OM have often lacked since the start of the season, especially in Metz last week (2-2), this time Marcelino’s men have shown it. Jostled in the game, the Marseillais did not have a lot of chances before the second goal. As proof at the start of the second half, a shot from Aubameyang (53rd) was the first since the 17th minute and a missed shot by Harit. But this time OM took cover to knock out ineffective Brestois on the contrary, with the achievement of Ismaila Sarr (65th) and that of Mbemba (4th minute). The big week of training for Marseille has paid off, even if the content has not yet fully convinced.

The Spanish goalkeeper was very reassuring in his goal to allow OM to lead from start to finish from the 4th minute. The 29-year-old goalkeeper repelled the many Brest opportunities, giving his team their first clean sheet of the season. The Spaniard notably signed a very big save (57th) on a header from Steve MouniƩ.

FLOPS

There will certainly be many regrets for Eric Roy’s men. The Bretons created the best and most numerous chances throughout the game. The Marseille defense was hot and could count on a good night Pau Lopez to maintain the score. The content is encouraging for Brest but the success was not there, after having already scored three goals against Lens (1st day) and two against Le Havre (2nd day).

The result is very satisfactory unlike the level displayed during the meeting. OM suffered too much and were sometimes drowned out by a Brest team that deserved a reward that never happened. Marseille will have to be much more serious and in control in the future to convince more.

Back little by little after his very big injury against Monaco last year which deprived him of the World Cup in Qatar, the Moroccan had to leave the lawn in the 49th minute hit in the knee and replaced by Mughe. In the game, he has not yet found his place, he started for the first time this season this Saturday. Apart from a good cross for Ismaila Sarr at the very start of the game, Harit tried his luck once, but his ball went completely over (17th).
