Finally, the Parisian supporters will go to Nantes. Earlier this Friday, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, had banned the travel of PSG fans to La Beaujoire, for the match of the 22nd day of Ligue 1 opposing, Saturday evening (9 p.m.), the Canaries to the leaders of the French championship (ranking here). A decree was published in the Official Journal.
In order to justify this decision, there was question of a “real and serious risk of clash between supporters of the two clubs”, the ministry adding that PSG matches on the road “are frequently sources of disturbances to public order resulting violent behavior”, which was surprising. Place Beauvau also questioned the behavior of Nantes supporters, accused of adopting “frequently violent behavior”, and also mentioned “relations marked by animosity” between the two camps, an “antagonism (which) is reflected in several clashes requiring the intervention of the police” in the past. Just that !
The Council of State, however, had to examine this file, at the injunction of the National Association of Supporters. And the appeal was heard. “The Council of State granted our requests. The ministerial decree is suspended. Good trip to the Parisian supporters. Follow the instructions carefully and enjoy the match,” we rejoice at the ANS. Note that “the State will pay the ANS (…) €3,000 under article L. 761-1 of the administrative justice code”.
