Vincent Hognon was dismissed from his post as coach of Grenoble Foot, 6th in the Ligue 2 championship, the Grenoble club announced on Wednesday, which remains on five consecutive defeats.

Aged 49, Hognon had been in place since December 21, 2021. He succeeded Italian Maurizio Jacobacci when the Isère team was 15th in the standings and on the edge of the relegation zone.

In 2022-2023, Grenoble ranked 10th, ensuring its maintenance fairly early in the season.

“This season, the very good first part raised real hopes and led the GF 38 to 3rd place in the standings at the break. Since January, the dynamic has reversed and the team has only collected six points out of 27 possible. Which led to the agreement between the parties,” specifies the press release from the Grenoble club which remains on a home defeat against Laval (2-0), Monday at the Stade des Alpes.
