Leader Auxerre revived after three matches without a victory by beating Caen (2-1) on Saturday in L2 despite a failed start to the match. With five points ahead of Angers, which hosts Amiens in the evening, the AJA is assured of retaining the lead after the 29th day. She lost last week at Saint-Étienne (1-0).

The Auxerres missed their start to the match by conceding a very early goal by Godson Kyeremeh (0-1, 9th) which forced them to run behind the score until the last quarter of an hour. They turned the situation around thanks to goals from Rayan Raveloson (76th) and their Brazilian captain Jubal (82nd), both with headers.

Despite very clear domination (22 shots including six on target), Auxerre had long struggled with the Caen defense, its goalkeeper and even the post (40th), and had a goal refused for offside (43rd). Their forward-looking play created spaces which Caen was not far from taking advantage of, like on a header from Mathias Autret just above (37th).
