Juventus Turin’s Swiss international midfielder Denis Zakaria, 26, is expected in Monaco “in the coming days” to undergo his medical examination and sign a minimum four-year contract there, we learned on Friday from sources familiar with the matter. Monaco and Juventus Turin have agreed on a transfer valued at 20 million euros, said the same sources.

Asked on the sidelines of the press conference preceding Monaco’s trip to Clermont on Sunday, on behalf of the first day of Ligue 1, the Austrian coach of the Principality club, Adi Hütter, confirmed his interest in the player. “We’ve been talking about it for two or three weeks. I spoke with him yesterday (Thursday, editor’s note), he would be very happy to come to Monaco,” said Hütter, very confident.

“He’s a very talented player,” he continued. I met him at the Young Boys in Bern, where he arrived when he was 18. Then I found him in Mönchengladbach. This would be the third time we would work together. He speaks French, German and English perfectly. He would be a good recruit and his style would suit Monaco perfectly.

Last season, the Swiss international (48 caps) who played the last two World Cups and the last two Euros with his selection, was loaned to English club Chelsea by Juventus Turin.
