The fight between Cédric Doumbé and Jordan Zebo turned into a settling of scores on Saturday evening at PFL Paris. After knocking out his opponent in 9 seconds, Doumbé had a message to convey. The French fighter attacked Zebo’s trainer, who is also his former trainer, Fernand Lopez. The 31-year-old athlete heavily charged the latter by accusing him of domestic violence against his former partner. Doumbé first targeted him without naming him, during his speech in the cage after the fight: “You know very well who took this knockout, it’s not Jordan,” he told the audience. The one who took this knockout was the one who hit his ex-wife.”
Shortly after, the former kickboxing champion returned to his accusations towards his ex-coach: “I was tired of protecting him without protecting him. It’s more the victim I wanted to protect so she wouldn’t be exposed. It’s a good time for people to understand why I left this gym (the MMA Factory), why I don’t like this person. I am part of “La Maison des femmes” (an association which helps women victims of violence), I made an awareness spot for the fight against violence against women. I am a strong advocate for women. I really wanted people to know what my second struggle is. And finally my first fight. Like I said, it’s not Jordan I’m fighting, it’s Fernand Lopez I’m fighting. It’s the violence against women that I knock out, it’s the one who hit his wife when I was in his room.”
For his fight against Jordan Zebo, Cédric Doumbé could count on the support of several Paris-SG players. After their draw against Clermont on Saturday afternoon (0-0), the Parisians Achraf Hakimi, Ousmane Dembélé, Layvin Kurzawa and Kylian Mabppé went to support the fighter. In particular, we can see them hallucinating after the KO of Doumbé after only 9 seconds of combat.
