Denver Nuggets leader Jamal Murray was fined $100,000 on Tuesday for throwing a heating bag and a towel from the sidelines in the direction of a referee during the NBA game lost the day before against Minnesota.
These bad-tempered gestures, from the sidelines, had gone relatively unnoticed at the time, in the middle of the second quarter, even if the heating bag had ended up on the floor. The replays then proved that Murray, clearly annoyed, was the author of these two throws, made in the direction of the official closest to him, near the sign.
The North American League consequently announced that the Canadian was fined $100,000. However, it did not impose any suspension on the 27-year-old player, who will therefore be able to be present during match 3 between the two franchises on Friday.
Minnesota leads the series 2 to 0, after its second – large – success Monday on the floor of the Nuggets 106 to 80, during which the defense of the Wolves completely stifled the attack of the reigning NBA champion.
After the match, Minnesota coach Chris Finch called Jamal Murray’s attitude “dangerous and inexcusable.”
