The Heat could recover their playmaker Tyler Herro, injured in the right hand since the start of the play-offs, for the fifth game of the NBA Finals which they must win on Monday, to prevent the Nuggets from winning the title.

He had undergone hand surgery after being injured in the opening game of the first round against Milwaukee on April 16. Without him, the Florida team defied all predictions, eliminating the Bucks (4-1), the Knicks (4-2) and the Celtics (4-3).

But in this final, the Heat are on the verge of defeat, led 3-1. A deficit that only one team has managed to erase in Finals history, LeBron James’ Cavaliers at the expense of Stephen Curry’s Warriors in 2016.

The 23-year-old Tyler Herro was Miami’s third-leading scorer this season, averaging 20.1 points per game in the regular season. Named best sixth man in the league last year, he has since earned his starting stripes, being a key element of Miami’s offensive game.
