“I want to end up the way I want to,” explains Fraser-Pryce, 37, in an interview with American fashion magazine Essence. A track legend, Fraser-Pryce has eight Olympic medals, including three gold, and ten world championship titles. She has notably already been crowned queen of the 100m at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012, before being beaten in Rio in 2016 (3rd) and in Tokyo in 2021 (2nd).

“My son needs me,” she said of her child born in 2017. My husband and I were already together before my victory in 2008. He made a lot of sacrifices for me. We are a team. It is thanks to his support that I have been able to achieve this success over all these years. I believe that from now on, I owe it to them to do something else.”

At the Paris Olympic Games (July 26 – August 11), the Jamaican supersonic (record of 10.60 over 100 m in 2021) intends to “push the boundaries” and “show people that we stop when we decide to”.

Last summer, she took 3rd place in the 100m at the World Championships in Budapest, ahead of her compatriot Shericka Jackson, in silver, and by the American Sha’Carri Richardson.
