Marcelino adds a layer. After emptying his bag in the newspaper l’Équipe following his resignation more than a month ago, the former coach of Olympique de Marseille reacted to the serious incidents which led to the postponement of the match against Olympique Lyonnais, initially scheduled for Sunday at the Vélodrome stadium. Questioned by Onda Cero, the Spanish coach deplored the acts of violence, including the stone-throwing of the Lyon bus, reaffirming his position on the harmful power of certain supporters around the Marseille club.
“It saddens me to see such images,” Marcelino said. The greatness of a club like Marseille is overshadowed by these acts of vandalism. The evolution of the club is made difficult by the ultras.

Very critical recently of OM which is not “as big as it would like to be”, the former Athletic Bilbao technician returned briefly to his express mandate, alluding again to the tense meeting between the leaders Olympians and the supporters groups at the Commanderie: “As a coach, I did not feel fear or receive threats.
