To sign the shared document were Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, president of the Pontifical academy of life (Pav), which has promoted the paper, the minister for Innovation and technology Paola Pisano; the director general of the Fao, Dongyu Qu, the president of Microsoft Brad Smith and vice-president of Ibm’s John Kelly III. The signing of the document has assisted the president of the european Parliament David Sassoli, who has invited Bishop Straw in Brussels.
The document was to be presented in the morning to Pope Francis, who, because of health problems, he instead sent a speech in which he emphasized, among other things, the risks and opportunities of artificial intelligence. The AI, has written, “is at the heart of the change of era we are going through”. “The fact that politics, companies and the Church today are, together, – commented the minister Pisano after the signing of the document – it means that the problem of technological development is felt by all. Technology is not neutral and depends on how it develops. On the basis of how we will develop – it has observed – we will be more transparent, ethical, inclusive”.
