Four Franco-French duels (three for men and one for women) will be on the program for the first round of Roland-Garros from Sunday, according to the draw made on Thursday.
Adrian Mannarino (47th in the world) and Ugo Humbert (38th) will face each other from the start, as will Arthur Cazaux (193rd) and Corentin Moutet (61st), as well as Richard Gasquet (50th) and Arthur Rinderknech (78th).
In the women’s draw, it is Océane Dodin (121st) and Selena Janicijevic (188th) who will be opposed from the start.
Three Frenchmen, opposed from the start to players from the World Top 15, are also unlikely to survive this first round: Alexandre Müller (100th) opposed to the Italian Jannik Sinner (8th), eighth finalist the year past, Constant Lestienne (69th) against the Russian Karen Khachanov (11th), eighth finalist also in 2022, and Benoît Paire (149th) who will face the Briton Cameron Norrie (14th).
In addition, Gaël Monfils (386th) will have a complicated first round against the Argentinian Sebastian Baez (44th) and Caroline Garcia (5th), lacking in confidence, will enter the competition against the Chinese Xiyu Wang (62nd).
The task also promises to be complicated for Arthur Fils (112th) ahead of the Argentinian Alejandro Davidovich (34th).
In total, 27 Tricolores (18 for men and 9 for women) are involved in the main draws of the Parisian Major. They can be joined by six others (3 for men, 3 for women) who play the third qualifying round.
