The French men’s rugby sevens team was defeated by Ireland (21-14) in the quarter-finals at the Perth tournament, third stage of the Sevens Series (after Dubai and Cape Town). Stephen Parez-Edo and John Jefferson Lee scored the two French tries but the Blues were surprised at the very end of the match, with an Irish try after the siren sounded.

At the next stage in Vancouver (February 23-25), the Blues will be able to count on the presence of Antoine Dupont, the scrum half of the French XV, who is preparing for the Olympic Games with the 7.

Although it came out of the groups with victories over New Zealand (33-17) and Samoa (19-14), the French women’s rugby sevens team was also eliminated in the quarter-finals by a team from the ultra-dominant United States (5-21).
