Owen Farrell, captain and fly-half of England after the big victory against Chile (71-0) on Saturday in the World Cup:
“It’s always a good time to put on the England jersey but when it’s like today it’s a pleasure. (…) We have always had fun, we have always enjoyed the matches but we also want to improve and that is something that is being built here. (…) Today was a match where it was difficult to select individual performances. (…) I don’t know how long the score remained 0-0. We had maybe one or two chances early on that we didn’t take advantage of. There was a risk of panic, perhaps, but I think the team was very clear about what they wanted in the next 20 minutes and we scored points.
Steve Borthwick, England manager:
“(Chile?) A courageous team, a very committed team, a very fast team as well. (England penalized in the second half?) There were things that happened after half-time, we will have to study them individually. (…) I think everyone came out of the match in great shape and in good health. (…) We will have 33 players available and in good condition, this helps us to train well before Samoa and that is our focus. It’s a tough and physical team, which is very well trained.”
