Toutai Kefu, Tonga coach, after the 49-18 defeat to South Africa: “I didn’t know (that we were the first to score three tries on the South Africans), that’s good. But I would have preferred another result. I think the boys had a great match. They put out a great performance, everyone is proud, despite the score. We are on the right path, but as usual it will be the last match, next week (Editor’s note: against Romania), which will be our best match, because as usual we lacked time to prepare together and there finally things are falling into place. There were two or three actions on their line where we should have played differently, spreading the ball away for example. We lost three or four very important balls. We have the talent, the new IRB eligibility rules help us, but we need time to work together, with players coming from 20 to 25 different clubs. Spending more time together will help us, as well as playing more competitions.
