The madness around the Blues has not subsided! Indeed, for the next Six Nations Tournament which begins at the beginning of February, requests for tickets are exploding from supporters of the French XV. Due to the work at the Stade de France for the Paris Olympics, the rugby Blues (like those in football) had to find fallback solutions for their home matches in the next Six Nations Tournament. Thus, Fabien Galthié and his players will face Ireland on February 2 at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille. Then Italy, on February 25, in Lille and finally England, on March 16 in Lyon.

For these three matches relocated outside Paris, requests are exploding. Our colleagues from Midi Olympique reveal that the French Rugby Federation, in charge of ticketing, has received nearly 400,000 requests for places while the three venues can only accommodate 175,000 people. For example, the FFR received 125,000 registrations for ticketing alerts for the entry clash against the Irish. With a record for the “Crunch” with 221,000 ticket alerts!

A member of the Federation explains to Midol: “We are in a way victims of our success. We welcome the enthusiasm generated by the XV of France but on the other hand, we will necessarily be disappointed a lot…” The Blues and their supporters will be keen to turn the page on the disillusionment of the defeat in the quarterfinals.
