The Californian firm Sonos has spent years boasting of having some of the best valued speakers on the market. After the success of the Sonos One, the company renews its portfolio with two new devices that aim to raise sound quality one more degree, the Sonos Era 100 and Era 300.

What’s so special about these speakers?

The first Sonos 100, we could say that it is the younger brother of the family, with the Sonos 300 being the more powerful of the two. In fact, this team has six drivers that direct the sound flooding the room to both sides, above and forwards, which makes the user have the feeling of being in the center of the sound thanks to spatial audio technology. In addition, it is compatible with Dolby Atmos.

Regarding specifications, the new Sonos Era 300 has six D-class digital amplifiers and four tweeters that ensure faithful sound reproduction, especially in high and medium frequencies. For bass, two woofers inclined to the left and right ensure excellent reproduction.

For use, they have Wifi 6, paired with a Bluetooth device or connected via an external audio source via an adapter, such as a turntable. An extra point for Sonos by betting on this type of connection as well.

Through the Sonos app it is possible to control it, in addition to the use of voice with Alexa or Sonos itself or through Apple AirPlay2. Of course, due to the open war between Sonos and Google, this device will not be compatible with Google Assistant.

For its part, the Sonos Era 100 has a great resemblance to the Sonos One, and everything indicates that it could become its replacement. Unlike the big brother, spatial audio and Dolby Atmos support are dispensed with here.

Still, Sonos itself acknowledges the similarity to the One model and also its audio enhancements, such as dual tweeter acoustic architecture.

Like the Sonos 300, it has stereo sound, Wi-Fi 6 connection, Bluetooth 5 and also via cable (sold separately). For use via voice controls, Sonos offers its own platform or Alexa features.

Both models will be on sale in Spain from March 28 in Spain. The Sonos Era 100 will be sold for 279 euros, while the Sonos Era 300 will hit the market for 499 euros.
