Travis Kelce, the iconic Kansas City Chiefs receiver, was one of the main architects of the team’s third NFL victory, masterfully led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The one who forms a star couple with American singer Taylor Swift made headlines during the Super Bowl on Sunday, by losing his temper with his trainer Andy Reid.
In the middle of the match, the fiery thirty-year-old went to shout at Reid, visibly very unhappy at having been sidelined at that point in the game, during the second quarter. Kelce even made the mistake of shoving the 65-year-old technician, surprised by this outburst of anger and destabilized. Another Chiefs player, Jerick McKinnon, intervened to calm his furious teammate.
“He caught me off balance. I wasn’t looking. It was a low blow, but it’s okay,” said the somewhat vengeful coach after his team’s triumph before adding: “He just came to me to say: ‘Leave me on the field “. That’s all. I like him to be like this, it’s not the first time. I appreciate that”.
Water had visibly passed under the bridge and there is no doubt that the coronation of Kansas City and the jubilation within the locker room contributed somewhat to erasing this incident on the edge of the field. “He is the best coach this sport has ever known. I love him,” Kelce reacted after the match.
