How do I learn and replicate a skateboard trick? It’s usually a headache for novice skateboarders, and even for the most seasoned. To remedy this, an application for smartphones, called 3D Skate Tricks, has just been launched offering tutorials for performing more than 40 tricks. The developer Vincent Ogloblinsky and the Rennes association Ride Like Share are at the origin of this original project.
“I imagined the 3D Skate Tricks application to help my daughter start skating 2 years ago during confinement. I thought that the idea could then help skaters of all levels to discover new skate tricks more easily,” explains Vincent Ogloblinsky, multimedia creator and photographer from Rennes. And to continue: “I worked with the association Ride Like Share in which I am a volunteer and with other skate teachers to ensure that each trick is explained in a clear and easy to understand way. We are confident that this app will be a valuable tool for skateboarders around the world.”
Concretely, the application offers more than 40 “tricks” (figures) that can be discovered in real time or in “step by step” mode with detailed explanations. It is also possible to scroll the figure quickly or slowly using a control bar, or in “first person view” mode to better visualize the location of the feet on the board.
An augmented reality mode is also available for certain “tricks”, in order to view them from a different angle. The application also allows you to find a teacher near you from more than 350 referenced schools around the world.
3D Skate Tricks: Available for free on major mobile platforms (IOS and Android) with 15 free tricks. An in-app purchase then unlocks all the tricks.
