Building on his victory at the 250 tournament in Marseille, Ugo Humbert, as expected, took over the place of No.1 Frenchman from Adrian Mannarino, according to the ATP ranking published on Monday. The 25-year-old Mosellan, who won his fifth title in five contested finals on Sunday, against the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, gained three places and is now 18th.
This is Humbert’s best ranking, which therefore overtakes Adrian Mannarino (19th), eliminated for his part in the semi-final of the 250 tournament in Dallas on Saturday. Still on the French side, Hugo Gaston (82nd) and Arthur Rinderknech (89th) gained four and five places respectively.
The ATP ranking is still logically dominated by the Serbian Novak Djokovic, ahead of Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev. No change took place in the top 10. Winner in Dallas, the American Tommy Paul is now 14th (1) ahead of his compatriots Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton, and the Russian Karen Khachanov (17th, 1). Briton Cameron Norrie, who closes the Top 20, lost one place.
Further down the rankings, the American Marcos Giron, beaten by Tommy Paul in Dallas, jumped 15 places and took 52nd place in the world. Crowned in Cordoba (ATP 250), the Italian Luciano Darderi does even better, since he is propelled to 76th place (60), the best ranking of his career at 21 years old.
