The upper part of the northern bend of the Chaban-Delmas stadium, which hosts the Union Bordeaux-Bègles matches, will be closed as a “precaution” due to a “weakness of the structure and foundations”, announced Friday the Bordeaux town hall.

“This part will no longer be exploited until the completion of reinforcement works for a few months; 3,400 covered places are thus affected, starting with the UBB-Perpignan rugby match on Saturday November 25, 2023,” specifies the town hall.

Listed as a Historic Monument since October 2022, the Chaban-Delmas stadium, former “Parc Lescure”, located in the center of Bordeaux since 1924, has a capacity of 33,200 seats according to the UBB.
