La Rochelle international winger Teddy Thomas was suspended for five weeks by the League’s disciplinary committee, after being sent off against Racing 92 for a dangerous tackle on Ile-de-France scrum-half Nolann Le Garrec. His sanction may be reduced by one week if he follows the “Head Contact Process” (awareness workshop on dangerous tackles), set up by World Rugby. Otherwise, it will be reclassified on December 31.

Furthermore, the manager of the Maritimes, Irishman Ronan O’Gara, received a one-week suspension for indiscipline during the same match which was played at Paris La Défense Arena. He will be able to regain his place on the La Rochelle bench from December 11 but he will miss the clash at the top this Sunday (4:15 p.m.), at the opening of the Champions Cup, against Leinster.
