South African second row Nicolaas Van Rensburg has extended his contract at Montpellier by two years, where he is now engaged until June 2026, the Hérault club announced on Monday. Van Rensburg (29 years old, 1 selection) played Saturday against La Rochelle (18-10), during the 14th day of Top 14, his 150th match in the colors of MHR, with which he won the European Challenge (2021 ) and the first French champion title (2022).
The slender second row (2 m, 115 kg) joined Montpellier in July 2016, on the advice of former Springbok coach boss Jake White, from the Pretoria Blue Bulls franchise. Montpellier occupies last place in the Top 14 ranking at the end of the 14th day.
