Yannick Bru (manager of Bordeaux-Bègles, beaten in La Rochelle): “We made the necessary efforts for 55 minutes to bring back something good from here. This defeat is still different from Toulouse because we had control over the debates for 55 minutes. The match is getting away from us, it’s hard, it’s infuriating because there is no encouraging defeat. The only thing that encourages us is the victories.

We are very unhappy but in this discontent, we must be objective and see that our team has made efforts on the front line, in the confrontation whereas in the past La Rochelle has often caused us problems in terms of power during 65 minutes. Our end of the match is not under control and despite this, we still have a match point that we do not take. This is one of the things that we need to control better. We weren’t up to the standards over the last ten minutes, that’s for sure and against a team like La Rochelle, in a pressure environment, that doesn’t work.”
