Launched through the landscapes of the Allier, the grouped peloton was surprised to see a deer tumbling out of a wheat field on the left of the road. Launched at full speed and no doubt frightened by the noise caused by the caravan of the tour and especially the helicopter which does not let go of the runners of the day, the animal traced its path passing just in front of the opening motorcycles responsible for ensuring that the road is safe for the passage of the peloton.
An unprecedented encounter but fortunately without consequence for the animal which scampered off at full speed without disturbing the race.
