The Italian Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) won the fourth stage of the Tour of Italy on Tuesday in a sprint, contested over 190 km between Acqui Terme and Andora, where Tadej Pogacar retained his leader’s pink jersey. This flat stage, run partially in the rain before the finale in the sun on the northwest coast of the peninsula, smiled as expected on the sprinters.

Milan won ahead of Australian Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and German Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain-Victorious). The Eritrean Biniam Girmay, who was among the favorites for the sprints, retired after a heavy fall 67 km from the finish. All the general leaders have arrived in the peloton and the classification should remain unchanged.
