FLOPS

The captain of the Bleuets carried his partners this Tuesday, during the 43-19 victory against Wales, in the last group match. At the origin of many frank and decisive actions, he was also a finisher on two occasions. A first time on a try of more than 90 meters after the interception of Maël Moustin (10th), then again just after the rest in reception of a low kick from Clément Mondinat (42nd).

The Pau opener was perfect against the poles (6/6) in addition to having concluded a try in force after a good collective work (19th), to give a significant advantage to his team from the start. Defensively he was very generous with a presence at all times, until he suffered from cramps in the second half.

FLOPS

The French have taken cards in every game since the start of the tournament. This time again, they took two in one game. First a yellow card from Barnabé Massa (Grenoble hooker) which turned a few moments later into a red card after video verification for a virulent entry into a ruck with the head. Then a yellow card at the very end of the match from Brent Liufau (2nd line of Pau) after a high tackle. Finally, these two cards did not change the face of the game but illustrate a recurring problem – 5 yellows and 1 red in three matches since the start of the competition – in the French ranks that will have to be corrected.

The Welsh gave everything they had but remained powerless in many areas of the game. In particular the scrum which was a permanent ordeal for the pack of forwards who only retreated and suffered from the French power. Thus giving precious ammunition which the Bleuets were able to take advantage of. After a 67-17 defeat in the Six Nations Tournament, it’s another big defeat for Wales against France in the U20s.
