Blue defender Selma Bacha, injured in an ankle for ten days, returned to collective training Monday in Sydney the day after the draw (0-0) against Jamaica at the World Cup, noted AFP journalists.
The Lyonnaise participated in the entire training session alongside the substitutes for Sunday evening’s meeting, appearing very comfortable and without discomfort in her left ankle. She scored several goals during an opposition, right foot, left foot. The day before, she was already on the substitute bench against Jamaica but had not come into play.
Defender Elisa De Almeida, forfeited on Sunday after suffering a calf injury in training, remained on the sidelines of the group, contenting herself with races around the Blues training ground in north-west Sydney. She also did some exercises with the ball.
Bacha like De Almeida are expected against Brazil on Saturday (12:00 p.m.) in Brisbane for the shock of group F, already decisive for the rest of the French tournament.
Monday under a bright sun, the holders of France-Jamaica were treated to a light and à la carte session. Some stayed indoors, others jogged. The young Naomie Feller (21), a substitute on Sunday, however, did not appear on the field, victim of muscular discomfort.
Les Bleues trained under the watchful eye of Jean-Michel Aulas, delegate of the executive committee of the Federation who accompanies the selection at the start of the tournament. The Habs were granted free time on Monday afternoon, five days before their next meeting. Coach Hervé Renard and his assistant Laurent Bonadei, for their part, were to make a return trip to Adelaide in order to observe the Brazil-Panama meeting (1:00 p.m.), future adversaries.
