It’s over for the Olympic vice-champions of the lightweight double sculls in Tokyo. Claire Bové and Laura Tarantola were eliminated this Thursday in the semi-finals of the World Championships in Belgrade.

Fifth in their semi-final, the French women will have to win their B final on Saturday to qualify directly for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games. Otherwise, they will have to go through Olympic qualifying regattas in spring 2024.

After taking control at the start of the race, Claire Bové and Laura Tarantola were no longer in the running at the time of the takeoff, namely the finale in rowing jargon. They finished the race with more than eight seconds on the last qualified for the A final, in 7 min 32 sec 73/100.
