Recently, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Mitma, has awarded a 663,172 euro service contract to the drafting of the project ‘Improvement of functionality of Vicar junction on A-7 Mediterranean highway, PP.KK. 424 to 428″ in Vicar.
This contract is for the construction of a Vicar junction improvement project. It includes the execution of a new semijunction at Kilometer Point 426 and the remodeling of the existing Vicar junction at Kilometer Point 424 to transform it into a semiinterchange. Also, the execution of one-way collectors or lateral roads connecting both semi-interchanges.
This intervention is part of other actions that the Miteco is currently undertaking and will affect many existing links on A7 as it passes through Poniente. The remodeling of El Parador in Roquetas de Mar and Almerimar El Ejido links is the most important. These links have many problems due to the volume traffic they support. The connection of Las Norias in El Ejido is another example of remodeling that will be undertaken.
