Camille Kostek is making a splash on the little display.
The intense obstacle course collection, which has been the strangest 1 new series throughout the summer of 2008, amassed a global following that has led to a number of spin-offs and specials. The present show has been hosted by John Cena and Emmy-nominated comedian Nicole Byer.
Besides hosting responsibilities, the 29-year-old is gearing up to appear in the upcoming Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, which is anticipated to fall this summer. The former Patriots cheerleader was the co-winner of this very first SI Swimsuit Model Search in 2018 alongside Haley Kalil.
Kostek spoke to Fox News about hosting”Wipeout,” her beau Rob Gronkowski’s bromance with Tom Brady, her very own friendship with Gisele Bundchen and the way she trained for this season’s sizzling spread.
What was it on the”Wipeout” revival that made you want to host?
Camille Kostek: I don’t even feel it had to be the revival. I grew up seeing the show and being someone who’s been in this area of hosting since I was young, I knew it was something that I always wished to perform. Seeing”Wipeout,” I always just wanted to become a contestant on it. So, when I had the chance and had gotten the call that there was a opening to the hosting place, I without doubt, was so excited to do all of my chemistry reads and meet the team. Every time that I got to advance during the procedure, I was even more thrilled, since this is a show that is so mythical, it is so epic.
Even before I understood how cool my co-hosts were going to be, I was already so excited. I could not wait to see that the course up close and in person. The small Camille in me could not wait to find out what it was like, in which they filmed. It was cool to understand that they did not change the location, they didn’t change the pools that they put up all of the obstacles in. It is so exciting for me. Every day I go to work, I can’t wait to be there. In order in the action, in the thick of it together with the contestants. Every day, for every run, it’s just as exciting each time.
What do you feel more pressure doing, hosting or modeling”Wipeout,” and why?
Kostek: You want to know something? I truly like both of the things that I do. I never feel like I wake up and go to work and feel pressure, but when I had to pick, I think I’d feel like there is a little bit more tension in the modeling world. I feel like that there are just so a lot more eyes on the way that your body is, and that I sense on-camera, hosting, it’s just slightly longer at ease. It’s quite conversational, I only get to be me, and have a conversation with all the contestants as I would if the cameras have been turned off.
Who would win in a particular”Wipeout” contest, John Cena or even Rob Gronkowski?
Kostek: I have asked this all the time, and I need to say my response changes all the time. *laughs* Now I’m going to say that I think John would win since he has seen the course run a lot of times. Rob has observed it, but that I feel just like John is up in the action, so he kind of has that direct, in that way. I believe that… Actually, I’m pretty certain that Rob is taller than John. So, I feel like John is able to get through the obstacles slightly faster, but maybe Rob’s long legs can aid with the Leap of Faith, which happens a whole lot of time on the program. Therefore, I really don’t know, it’s neck and throat, but I’m going with John this time.
Speaking of Gronk, what do you make of his bromance using Tom Brady?
Kostek: outside their bromance, it is just incredible to maintain their hands out of New England to Tampa Bay. I mean, you can not make this stuff up, acquiring the energetic duo back together, breaking history with having the first-ever Super Bowl on the home field, and using them take home that Lombardi Trophy – which has been so epic. How can they not fall in love with each other? I mean, they did something a lot of folks had thought they could perform. It is really cool, I’ll state that it’s like watching two major children together, they are always so goofy collectively, and giggly, and it is cool.
It sounds as if you might have any potential rivalry there.
Kostek: Yeah, a bit. I’ve never actually contemplated Tom contest *laughs*. If anything, I feel like Tom and that I can associate that we know Rob and his goofiness. But, no, one big happy family.
It seemed like you two ensured at the Super Bowl.
Kostek: I believe what’s so good about Gisele and I’m that we are [able to link because] we are both on the street so frequently, or she is home with her kids a lot. Her career is something which I’ve looked around for so long. When I watch her, I still am bright-eyed and bushy-tailed simply talking to her, since she is just so admirable.
When you get to meet someone that you’ve looked around for so long, a role model, you trust you’re not frustrated. She has exceeded my expectations. She’s so beautiful inside as she is on the outside. What’s so good about her is that we kind of pick up where we left off. We see each other in a ring service, or at a Super Bowl parade, or in after-parties. We have so much fun together, and we kind of do our own thing through this year. Then we get to come together, and it’s like we pick up right where we left off. She’s such a great woman.
You’re looking in the upcoming SI Swimsuit issue. How can you educate this time around?
Kostek:… I’m very happy that I got into the modeling business today, because earlier when I was younger, I believe when it came time to get a photoshoot, I would really pay attention to what I had been eating, and workout even harder weekly. Now, it’s become this type of lifestyle. I eat clean all the time, and I am taking a stroll , or on a run, or doing workout bands where I am in a hotel room, or training at my at-home gym.
I truly don’t do anything different when it is time to shoot for SI. It has turned into a lifestyle, it’s turned into a routine, and you really become last-minute note before the shoots, so thank goodness that I am always prepared. Because I believe that I found out just a few weeks before I knew I was going to shoot for my fourth year. I am just very blessed that I’ve figured out a way to enjoy a healthful lifestyle more or less every day. That does not mean there are no cheat days, but I can’t say it’s anything different.
What does it mean for you to be part of SI Swimsuit for another year in a row?
It is one of the most honorable things that I really do. It goes beyond just posing for the magazine. The women behind the brand, the versions within the brand, they are people like I’d never met before. Everyone shares such a light and a passion for wanting to really make waves in this business, and that I really did not get my enormous yes till Sports Illustrated.
