Swimming Pieter Timmers has the victory, caught in the 100-meter freestyle during the openingsmanche of the Champions Swim Series in Guangzhou, China.

The viceolympisch champion of Rio 2016 tapped in 48.60 (pr 47.80) for the Russians Kliment Kolesnikov (48.75) and Vladimir Morozov (49.10). The South African Chad Le Clos was fourth (49.25).

The Champions Swim Series is a new competition (in big bath) and only the absolute highlights, such as medal winners at major championships, are invited. There are per discipline, only four swimmers.

The winner will get $ 10,000 (8.975 euro). For the second is $ 8,000 to play, for the third $ 6,000, and the number four casht still $ 5,000.

After Guangzhou, there are still meetings in the Hungarian Budapest (may 11-12) and the American Indianapolis (31 may-1 June).
