The Supreme court in Israel has ruled out on Sunday a candidate of an ultra-right party of the parliamentary elections. The politician Michael Ben-Ari may not participate in the vote in April. He belongs to the party of Jewish power, which is often criticised as racist. Israel’s attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit had accused Ben-Ari previously “call to racism”. He described Israeli Arabs as “treacherous and murderous”, and make “ethno-nationalist sentiment against the Arab population”, which accounts for approximately 17.5 per cent of the Israeli citizens.
Ben-Ari, and also the party of Jewish power, a member of Itamar Ben-Gvir at the beginning of the month had been from the election Commission with a tight vote, approved. Ben Gvirs candidacy has now been confirmed by the Supreme court.
Jewish power is led by followers of the racist Rabbi Meir Kahane. He had founded the later-banned Kach movement, which advocated for the expulsion of all Arabs from Israel and was classified in the EU, the USA and in Israel itself as a terrorist group.
