One of the european policies most transformative events was the French revolution and the new ideas of freedom and equality that followed. It was from there that the modern liberal democracy emerged.
But all was not for the new liberal ideas. Some wanted to preserve the privileges that the society’s rulers had usurped. For these, the creation of an entirely new word réactionnaire. Or in Swedish, reactionaries.
When the social democrats of the new ”Reformers” are now setting up a counter-movement against the Januariavtalet it is in completely the wrong name. For it is long since we seen anything more reactionary than Reformisternas political program.
For what it is really they want these självbenämnda reformists?
Well, first and foremost of the Reformers to return to a policy from a time when the power of the society lay with the S-marked organisations.
in and near the socialist movement created a situation in Sweden where the roads to a first job and a first accommodation has become increasingly longer.
A situation where not even the socialist minister can get housing in Stockholm, but also to use their contacts in the movement. For the waiting-list is in the next eternal, and that housing construction for small.
A situation where it is in the metropolitan suburbs and the vulnerable areas have created an exclusion where people do not see a future. It because they do not live up to the demands of the social democrat party and its friends have set up and therefore will not enter the labour market.
A situation where rural people see their freedom and their opportunities limited once again while the public sector in Sweden is creeping behind the rest of the walls in the centralismens holy name.
And this, the Reformists not a single relevant answer. And even worse – the set barely even the relevant questions.
A modern reform policies must be based on solutions to the real challenges of today. And Sweden’s largest challenges today is to create a sustainable policy in a global and digitized daily life.
But the Reformers lifts no answers on how Sweden should act on the global movement of capital, ideas and people, or the digital and automatiseringens effects on the workplace. Reformers don’t look forward. They are looking backward. They miss the revolution that is happening before their eyes.
Reformers dream of a nation-state that stands alone and strong and decide fully over its citizens and its economy. Sorry Kallifatides et al. So, the reality is not out.
Januariavtalet given S a historic opportunity for the political development of new ideas. The reactionaries in the Reformers have chosen to throw it away.
instead of being open to the reforms, Sweden needs to Reformers that the social democrats should continue to the left. Straight into the arms of the Party which Reformisternas appear to have copied their positions from.
For Sweden’s sake, one can hope that the socialist leadership is none the wiser.
if you Want to go back to a time where partiboken gave priority and the budget was in deficit and the financial crisis – then yes, it is absolutely right to support the reactionary Reformists.
are you for real reform in Sweden and the opening up of the labour market and the housing market and build a sustainable and rich in Sweden for a new time – then it’s the Centre party and the reform we are now starting to support. And, even better, contribute with ideas to.
the future belongs to the green liberalism, not the red of socialism.
