Stockholm will be the host of the winter OLYMPICS in 2026.
It has long been known, but on Friday submitted to the Swedish capital its official bid, on how the event should be held, The International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The official bid has been given the name “Stockholm Åre 2026” and implies, among other things, to the alpine skikonkurrencer held in Åre, which is situated about 500 kilometres northwest of the Swedish capital.

The Swedish bid is competing with a joint bid from the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d’ampezzo.
