Syrian fighters backed by the United States have the town of Hajin in the east of Syria occupied. This is reported by the Syrian observatory for human rights.

Hajin -east of the Euphrates river near the border with Iraq – was the last major Syrian city that was controlled by the terrorists of Islamic State. The US-supported Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), led by the Kurdish YPG militia, a few months fought for the terrorist group there to drift away.

The intake of Hajin forces back to a smaller strip along the eastern bank of the Euphrates river.

SDF-commander-in-chief Mazloum Kobani said Thursday at Reuters news agency that at least 5,000 of IS fighters in the remaining territory to stay and that they have decided to the death to fight. Among them there are approximately 2,000 foreign fighters, mainly Arabs and Europeans, together with their families.
