Japanese striker Takefusa Kubo extended his contract on Monday until 2029 with his club Real Sociedad, PSG’s opponent in the Champions League on Wednesday, the Basque club announced in a press release. The 22-year-old Japanese phenomenon “signed his new contract, thus realizing the desire of both parties to continue to grow hand in hand,” writes Real Sociedad.
A great mark of confidence in the man nicknamed “the Japanese Messi”, who has become the main offensive weapon of the Basque team who surely wanted to strengthen their jewel before bigger clubs wanted to recruit him. Sparkling since the start of the season, “Take” Kubo, who notably played for FC Barcelona and Real Madrid without succeeding in establishing himself there, has been considered since a young age as a great hope in Asian football.
He joined Real Sociedad, which he now considers “his home”, in the summer of 2022 and quickly established himself as a starter, in a squad composed mainly of Basque players.
