After tennis, cycling, baseball or even Basque pelota, Stade Toulousain is now available for basketball. The Toulouse Basket Club will become the Stade Toulousain Basket-ball at the start of the school year. The club issued a press release in which it intends to continue to “develop its brand image and by improving its sporting performance in recent years, the TBC now has the opportunity to continue its adventure with the best.”

Stade Toulousain, the last winner of the last Top 14, will bring additional notoriety to the resident of Nationale 1 where the latter was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

This is not a first. In 2018, Stade Rochelais took over Rupella Basket La Rochelle. The club then became the “Stade Rochelais Basket” and even went up to Pro B at the end of the 2021/2022 season. The president of Stade Toulousain Basket said in the press release: “This new chapter in the history of Toulouse basketball marks the ambition to professionalize the club and to bring high-level basketball to the benefit of as many people as possible. With a view to anchoring professional basketball in the territory, we want to offer large National 1 posters each season at the Palais des sports. The tone is set.
